SOLA Safety
Privacy Policy
Version 1.0 · Effective October 2, 2026 · Last updated October 2, 2026
This policy explains what information the SOLA Safety mobile app processes, why, and what stays on your phone. It describes the current version of the app.
About SOLA Safety
SOLA Safety is a mobile app for school and district staff. It shows the approved Safety Plans for the sites you are authorized to view, and it lets you send Field Reports to your district.
SOLA Safety is operated by SOLA Leaders, LLC.
Accounts are created by your school district. The app has no sign-up: your district administrator decides who has an account and which sites each person can view.
Information the app processes
Account and sign-in information:
- your email address and password, used to sign you in (the app keeps a sign-in session on your phone, not your password);
- your name, your account identifier, your district and the sites your district has given you access to.
Safety Plan information: the approved Safety Plans for the sites you are authorized to view.
Field Reports you choose to send:
- the site, the category and the urgency you select;
- the description you write, and a location if you describe one in your own words;
- the time you observed what you are reporting, if you enter it, and the time the report was saved on your phone.
Descriptions and locations are free text. The app reminds you not to include unnecessary student names, medical details or other sensitive personal information.
Why the information is processed
- to sign you in and keep you signed in;
- to show you the Safety Plans and sites your district has authorized for you;
- to deliver your Field Reports to your district, where people your district has authorized to review them can see them;
- to keep your default site’s approved plan available when you are offline, as described below.
What is stored on your phone
- Your sign-in session, in your phone’s secure storage.
- An encrypted copy of your default site’s approved Safety Plan, so you can read it without a connection. The app shows it only while your access has been confirmed within the last 7 days.
- Field Reports that have not been sent yet, stored encrypted until they are sent or you delete them.
- App preferences, such as your default site.
Signing out removes your sign-in session and the saved plan from the phone. If you have reports that have not been sent, the app asks you to send them or delete them before you sign out.
What the app does not do
The current version of SOLA Safety:
- shows no advertising and does not track you across other apps or websites;
- does not use your device’s advertising identifier;
- contains no analytics or crash-reporting software;
- does not collect your GPS location, and does not access your camera, photos or contacts;
- does not send push notifications.
Security
Information travels between the app and SOLA over encrypted connections. Information saved for offline use is encrypted on your phone, and what you can see is limited to what your account is authorized to access.
No method of transmitting or storing information is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
